What does my visit include?
The Bird will show up on time, and we'll have a boogielicious socially distant dance party to a song of your choice. Your exciting visit also gets you photos, video, a chance to immerse yourself in pure joy, a backstage tour if you want it, memories that will make you giggle into 2021, and something to talk to your family about besides what you're watching on Netflix! Woah. That's a lot of swag.
What is this exactly?
A lady in a bird costume on stilts who wants to spread smiles, laughter, and a little bit of weirdness during these unpredictable times while making a bit of moolah. Birds got bills too. Literally.

The Bird arose from the ashes of necessity on April 11th, 2020. This was when everything had just shut down, people were following the rules hard by staying at home, and fear of the unknown was high. As a teaching artist and part part-time worker no longer working in any capacity, Lady Katie used this newly found free time to bring life to the Bird.

We were all starving for something sparkling and whimsical to raise the spirit and make the heart smile. Government financial assistance was not yet in existence, but the need for laughter and feeling loved and seen was there. So the Bird took flight under specific parameters that made it possible to offer this joy at an unheard of rate for this type of professional work.

And so, chuckles, guffaws, chortles, and heeheehee's were heard across the Triangle regardless of financial status because sometimes, loving and lifting your community up in times of peril is more important than money. That loving energy was a beautiful cycle of giving and receiving, which filled Lady Katie's spirit as well.

How does it work?
The Bird shows up at the address you provide, at the time you provide. The Bird will announce its presence by text/phone call as to not touch any doors. Staying outside at a safe social distance, the Bird will then shake a tail feather to a song. This is not a singing telegram. It is a dancing telegram only. Hopefully you have alluded to your friend that something strange will be happening around the hour you picked so they can be excitedly anxious.

Does the Bird sing?
Only unfamiliar bird songs that make human ears hurt. This service you are purchasing is for a 1 song dance party only.
Can I pick the song?
Yes. Mostly. The Bird has veto powers.
What if they aren’t home?
The Bird will leave a signed photo and best wishes in their mailbox.
Are there refunds?
Not if it is in violation of the cancellation policy. (See below)

What's the cancellation policy?
If for some reason the Bird can’t go due to weather, illness, surprise cow in the road, etc., the Bird will let you know and refund your money. You can cancel for any reason up to 48 hours before the Birdgram. Cancellation by you after 48 hours is subject to no refund. The Bird requests that there is a mutual respect of time and energy because after all, this is ridiculous whimsy fun. In the words of my former student, Andrea, "It's not that serious".
What if the Bird exceeds all of my expectations?
Tell them or tip them. Or both. Birds like both.
Can I take photos/video of the Bird?
As long as you are 6 feet horizontally away.
